Betws Bach Farmhouse
An ancient, quaint cottage style farmhouse, dating back to circa 1675, which has been expertly restored to maintain its two massive inglenooks, stone steps, original small windows, post and panel partitions and original oak beams and trusses.
Betws Bach is a GRADE II* listed historic building, with preservation order on its authentic keep. Its architecture is very interesting and quite unique. The main part of the farmhouse is completely self-contained accommodtion with the North Wing being occupied by my elderly Mother who is occasionally joined by ourselves from time to time. The main part is approached along its own tarmaced drive and entrance.
Accommodation - 4 bedrooms sleeping 7 plus cot (+ 1 folding bed, by request). All bed linen provided and beds made up ready for arrival.
First Floor: Two Double Bedrooms and One Single Bedroom:
Main Bedroom with 4'6" Antique Victorian Brass & Iron Bed (plus space for folding bed)
Second bedroom with Antique Oak & Mahogany Double bed.
Single Bedroom with 3' Antique Iron Bed.
Bathroom with P-Shaped shower bath, toilet, washbasin with mirror & lights and Shaver point.
Second Floor: (reached by a staircase with limited headroom).
A Large Double Bedroom with sloping beamed ceiling and low doorway. Walk In Wardrobe.
Shower Room with Quadrant style cubicle, toilet, washbasin and Shaver point. Both with lovely countryside views towards Snowdonia.Ground Floor:
Entrance Hall with Coat & Hat Stand and Grandfather Clock;
Sitting Room with beamed ceiling, original inglenook fireplace with multi-fuel stove (in use) digital t.v; video and radio/CD player. Mostly antique furniture, ornaments and prints. Comfortable seating.
Kitchen-Dining Room with stone flagged floor; stylish Oak panelled units and granite worktops. Electric Oven, Hob, Microwave, large Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer, stainless steel pots and pans and quality Portmeirion china. Round dining table and seating for 7.
Snooker Room with a ¾ qtr size heavy slate based table. Reached up three stone steps, the room is full of character with a wealth of exposed beams, inglenook with 'pot belly' stove (not in use), colour t.v , comfortable seating, a charming Grandfather clock and a Stable-door opening onto a paved South facing patio with garden table and chairs.
Grounds Large: (unenclosed) informal lawned garden with trees and shrubs. Grand views of Snowdon and the National Park. Rotary clothes line. Two paved patio areas. Built-in barbecue and picnic table. Ample safe parking area for 3 cars. Private Fishing and Shooting available by arrangement.
Heating & Fuel: Oil fired central heating is inclusive. Use of electricity is by meter reading and charged for at the end of your stay. Starter basket of logs supplied then at cost.
